So there's likely an error in your named.conf, or in one of your zonefiles.
Paste the exact error ... nobody is an astrologer here to guess what's
happening, without logs and error messages.

The wc util is specifically for this purpose. For this file:
o wc 143.lost reveals : lines words bytes filename
12 57 428 143.lost
o wc -L filname ... reveals the length of the longest line
