In which case, I think wvdial cannot parse the login prompt correctly (ie, it doesn't detect the Login: kind of thing). Using minicom, figure out how the prompt looks like. Then add a Login Prompt = "whatever you figured" in the correct dialer section of your wvdial.conf. That might solve the issue. Which ISP is this, BTW?
