Hi,
I dont know wether my question is relevant to the list or not ,but I might
still like to post it to the list .
I am considering developing a simple accounting package (of course for
linux) to assist my father with his account works. I have decided using
gtk-- for the gui programming. But I am still confused which database
backend to use. I am a little bit aware with postgres and its api s. Is
postgres a right choice ?
Or will it be more than what I need (the accounting package should deal
with around 10 ledger transactions a day)
Secondly can Postgres databases be kept on floppy (I mean just the
database files alone not the package) alone . Since I found that just
creating a tempelate database takes around 1Mb.
Or is MySQL a better choice ?
Or would it be still better to use no database at all and use my own
customized data files to store the data(I think U understand what I mean).

Thanks in advance,
Ankur Agarwal
