AFAIK, no ready made apps of this sort. It would not be too
difficult to script this, and that would  probably  be  the
way to go. There is a bash shell script on  the  net called
x-wvdial which stays up throughout the ppp session, and has
a time keeper on it. That script can be tweeked to suit the
requirement of a fixed cut-off. This is an X app,  based on
Xmessage.
