but i m not able to ping even...
i have used two bnc connectors and t connectors with
50 ohm resistance terminators on both ends.
what can be the problem ?

Hello Ashish,
You can do the following.
1. Using a Multimeter set in the OHM's mode measure the resistance. It
should be approximately 25 ohms. If it does not show any reading(blank)
means the cabling is open. If it shows zero the cabling is shorted. You
will have to check the wires, soldering etc.
2. Before loading any OS I suggest you run the diagnostic programs
provided on the driver diskette. You can run both the onboard tests and
the network tests with one machine first set up as responder and another
setup as initiator. For this the machine should be booted with a DOS
diskette.
3. Load the Linux OS. If the cards are recognised you wont have any
problem if the first two tests have passed. Pinging will work even with
firewall enabled but for telnet and other services you will have to fine
tune the firewall.
