yes, it's quite memory-intensive for a small programme. i have two large databases installed (webster and wordnet, about 24 mb together) and a few small ones. about 29 mb in all. for this setup, dictd consumes 3.1% of 256 megs (comes to a little less than 8 megs). and yes, the amount of memory consumed depends on how much data is installed. with only the webster files (15 megs), dictd eats about 1.7%. - t. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
