That is bloody ancient. And v6 has NO antirelay protection of any sort.
Stop sendmail on that machine immediately, if possible. That, and anything
having v6 around is very likely to have similar old junk lying around - so
just take it off the 'net and keep it within your lan, or it'll have been
rooted / hacked / cracked / whatever by now.
Install the latest patch bundles for aix on that machine - that will bring it
up to (I think) 8.9.3 or 8.10.[something] Then rm sendmail.cf ... you HAVE
to build a new cf file from the .mc file. [Or just reinstall a new AIX on it]
Then, because AIX still has a brain dead policy of shipping open relay
sendmails, update sendmail.cf using the new mc file (you have to install the
bos.tcp.net.adp bundle I think, for this).

5 characters edit /etc/login.defs. Change the line that reads
