Thanks Girish, Presently I'm checking out Diskless-nodes and Thin clients. In these cases the node or the terminal is not exactly 'dumb' - they are almost full-fledged, may be low powered and without disks but still are full machines!
But what I'd wanted to know was whether its possible the same machine to be used by multiple users simultaneously using separate IO devices? Linux does support multiple virtual terminals using CTRL+ALT+Fx; so I wanted to know this idea can be extended?
