Hi,

To uninstall Oracle 8i you don't have to run the
installer even.   Just run rm -rf on /usr/oracle,
assuming that you have installed oracle on
/usr/oracle.

Also you need to delete the /etc/dbora file and any
other files that you have created anywhere belonging
to the oracle user account.  

Finally, if you so desire, you can also delete the
oracle user accounts and the group accounts to remove
all traces of any oracle installation or oracle
accounts.
