Sometime on Feb 24, Bhasker Joshi assembled some asciibets to say:

This is mostly correct.  Just make sure that you compile ext3 into the
kernel, and not as a module.  You never know when you may want to switch
everything to ext3, and no point doing a kernel recompile then.

besides, it could save you some trouble if you accidently convert / to
ext3 while having the library as a module.
