There are many things that mysql does not support (the list may be reducing .. stored procs, job scheduling) etc but u may not need the same, and you can always find workarounds for some (job scheduling by OS or App Server).
However, ultimately if this is a high-volume site (and every site is NOT), you may need to go in for Oracle on a RISC-based server. Expensive, but worth it.
