All soundcards that give output to a regular speakers are "analog" .. certain soundcards like the SoundBlaster Live! have an optional "digital out" option ... you'll need a card with a digital out to use those speakers. I have a SB Live! Value which has a digital out .... these days you can get them for <$50 .. am not sure if the digital out works under linux though...
