Well, they have a pretty active LUG (with a website and newsgroup at
http://www.linux.org.hk / news.linux.org.hk)

So, I dropped in at their monthly meeting today - and it is not bad.
Pretty active.

Meeting was in the conference room of some company [with an unpronouncable
chinese name], about 10 minutes walk from my office. Glitzy building,
lift with a built in TV showing stock market quotes (and tuned to CNN) ...

The conference room had a lot going for it - centrally air conditioned
(like the bldg), with an LCD projector and what's best of all, a high
speed internet connection + plenty of network ports around. :)

Meeting started off with a talk by Alan Knowles, demonstrating his phpmole
ide (wysiwyg html editor + ide - kinda like dreamweaver - coded in
php-gtk). http://www.freshmeat.net/projects/phpmole/ and then
http://midgard.hklc.com ... tres cool.

Next was a guy (who talked in chinese, so I couldn't follow anything - but
lcd projector + demos gave me a pretty good idea) ... demo'ing linux on a
palmtop (a compaq iPaq I think).

Followed by (what else, when lots of people had laptops and there was
plenty of high speed 'net connection available ...) - a quake deathmatch.

I kind of enjoyed myself :)
