Defrag is a requirement of the file system in use and not Linux per se. Most current distros are built on ext2 file system which is robust with inbuilt code to keep fragmen- tation to a minimum. There is hardly a need for a defrag utility for ext2. However, a defrag utility for ext, ext2 and minix is ava- ilable at http://sunsite.unc.edu: http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/linux/system/filesystems/ defrag-0.70.tar.gz HTH Bish -- : ####[ Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]########################### Sub : apt-get FAQ (Debian) LOST #094 Answers to most questions about apt-get can be found here :- http://newbiedoc.sourceforge.net/system/apt-get-intro.html ####<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>###################################### : _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
