Means it is time for you to pull out the hard disk and whack your 
hardware supplier with it. That message is equivalent to Windows giving 
you a blue screen saying unable to write to C: Drive you maybe lose some 
data.

Ofcourse to convince Seagate about that you would have to go to their 
website download Seatoold (which incidently is a windows binnary) run it 
to create a bootable disk (which incidentally boots into DOS) and then 
run the tool on your hard disk. The tests are supposedly non destructive 
but who knows. By the time I run it the hard disk has outlived its life 
anyway ;).


Umm ok I assume it is a Seagate hard disk. I do know Samsung has 
simillar tools and so do Quantum and anyone else who manufactures hard disk.
