I was talking about not allowing zonetransfers / recursion from other than
selected ips (allow-transfer, recursion, fetch-glue etc)

Re securing bind, try this pdf, from Cricket Liu (co-author of the O'Reilly
Bind Book) http://www.acmebw.com/papers/securing.pdf

It is for bind 4.x and 8.x - not bind9. Principles are the same though.

To add more consoles to the default 6, edit /etc/inittab. To
lines looking like this:
6:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty6 | Do not cross 11 because
                                 | the last free tty is
... append something like: | needed by X. Anyway,
7:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty7 | for most boxes, 10 is
8:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty8 | good enough
