This remind me of a  quote  which was  common in the 80s, but 
seem to be forgotten these days ... It  used to be  from some
book ... forgotten where ...

into your /etc/profile or .profile as well. Under  Borne shell 
and clones (ash, bash, ksh, and zsh).
