Mimedefang etc are external tools which you call from sendmail / qmail /
whatever.

In order to search for a string in some files, use:
grep "string" filename1 [filename2 filename3 ...]
This will print out the filename and the lines in the file
that contain the string. Type 'man grep' for details.
