There used to be a compiler called "max" (which is Clipper/ Dbase FoxPro compatible) available for download at www.PlugSys.com. It is PayWare, but free for individuals. There used to be a system of a Licence key necessary to activate the software for use which needs to be obtained from PlugSys. Some features are curtailed in the free version. "max" is a full fledged compiler, producing elf executable. Have not seen the site for ages ... can gave a look if things are still the same at http://www.PlugSys.com.
