Hi list,
I have been having a DNS nightmare. The initial problem was that our zone was not
transferring from our bind 9 Primary Master to our ISP's bind 4 (on NT)
Secondary Slave. Our ISP said that they would solve the problem by removing the
delegation to their server so we would have only a single server as
authoritative for our domain till we set up our own Secondary Slave DNS.
Now we have set up the Secondary Slave as well. However all week we have faced
the problem of not getting mails addressed to our domain. as well as sometimes
mails we send bouncing because our domain is not resolving.AFAIK from our side
everything is correctly running.I told our ISP that he needs to put glue
records as well but he does not know what a glue record is.I think the culprit
is that our ISP has not put the required glue records and as a result we have
been put through the nightmare for the past one week.
Regards,
Dayalan
P.S. I am still not getting LIH/LIG due to aforementioned problem so I have to
read the posts from the website.
