exactly.  have you ever seen a free software/OS software released?  They 
are all in beta forever.

Well, no, not exactly.  The motto really is release fast, release early.  
You release your software every time you stop coding.  That way others 
get to see your changes and fix your bugs immediately.  That goes into 
CVS.  You release a new version when all bug testers decide that there's 
no point fixing any more bugs today.
