Even if it's not on your lan, you can access it because you can setup a route to it. And if you can access it, just provide the ip. Not required. I repeat, if machine is accessible on network, give it's ip, if not it's not possible. Only thing I don't know is whether a print spool requires two way communication with client, which is I suppose is the case. I still don't get the problem. Can you post it with relevant ips of machines and some network topology of your network. That should help..
