Hi friends, I just installed Linux on my PC which already has W2K.
1) I tried configuring my DLINK DFM-560ES modem (56.6K external) under GNOME and KDE but it doesnt connect. I get a msg "NO DIAL TONE". But there is no pbms with the line. Windows connects thru the modem just fine. I tried using KPPP and the default Dialers under Gnome,..... it does detect the modem under /dev/ttyS0 but then when dialing gives the msg "NO DIAL TONE". I also went thru the steps as in the VSNL site for linux, but it doesnt help much. Is this some standard pbm ? Has anyone else encountered this and solved it before ? Any suggestions... ? Thanks in Advance, Regards Satish _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
