Hi,

Some remote clients are dialing into our linux server to send and receive
mail. They use eudora as the mail client. But the sending process is very
slow. Eudora gives message tired of trying ... they have to press ok button
and than slowly the mail goes. Thus even simple text mails take lot of
time. Is it related to some dns queries ? On this machine there is no DNS
configured.

I was wondering what happens when these users connect to this box ? In the
dial-up networking settings we are using automatically take dns from
server, that works for internet. Will I have to configure DNS too on this
machine so that dial-in mail checking and sending is fast ?

Is it really a DNS problem ?

I will be greatful for any help.

Thanks in advance.

####[ Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]############################

Sub : User CDROM mount LOST #010

This is a security issue .... NOT recommended unless it is on
a stand alone box. Make the following changes to /etc/fstab,
(where the mount point is /cdrom). Then, $mount /cdrom ... as
an user will do the trick

/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 defaults,nosuid,nodev,noauto,user 0 0
