Hi all,

Recently I installed RedHat 7.1 on a Intel P-III machine
with 8 GB Harddisk.

partitions are as follows,
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda9 396623 121188 254954 33% /
/dev/hda1 31079 3472 26003 12% /boot
/dev/hda6 2522048 1105732 1288200 47% /machhome
/dev/hda5 3273156 20 3106868 1% /oracle
/dev/hda8 2624792 1750272 741184 71% /usr

Even after a proper shutdown, at the time of booting it says
/dev/hda9 is already mounted. cannot continue.

It then asks for root password for maintainance, but fsck
completes without any errors.
if I give "init 3" I can proceed but again at next boot time
the same error appears.

I googled for the problem and found out that it has
something to do with /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit but I couldn't
find the place where "/" gets mounted.

can somebody give me some pointer??

Regards
Aseem
