Aah !

Thanks, Chandrakumar !

I have filed yr email addr in my Address Book, I may
need your
help for doing the same juggling of Server-Client
xchange on NT4
platform. Have you done it, by any chance ?
But it will be discussed off the list, if you do'nt
mind, off-course !

Now to your response & my explanation :

shadowed is 'hda' then make

1)
Yes, there was 'hdxx' difference in Server m/c.
I made the Winxx parttion as 'hidden' partition, so it
wo'nt recognise
changed hardware in client m/c - Winxx is booted thru
multi-boot.

2)
I also disabled the sound-driver, and video settings
in X-server in
both the m/cs.

3) I disabled Kudzu, so it wo'nt give me trouble for
my mouse -
popping irritating messages of changed hardware.

4) I changed IP addresses of both the m/cs - also the
gateway adrrs.

5) I swapped the network cards on both of them.

6) I upgraded the Kernel with new drivers so that
P-III's in-built
chips would be recognised.

7) Then I swapped the HDDs.

I got some missing symlinks and little gibbersih in X.
But that was
re-established.

I also upgraded my libcs et el. And little bit of
tinkering here
and there.

And the rest was OK, as you suggested !

Thanks pal, for your kind guidance !!

Well, you are the best judge... ;-)

PS: By the way, why the repeated posts ?
