Maybe the guy knows him. If I can confirm that you have poorly set up wu-ftpd from looking at /etc, one of my defense is gone. OK obscurity is not ultimate, but at least it helps upto some extent. In mandrake for higher security levels permissions are really tight. 700 for home directories, 711 for binaries in /usr/bin and etc. I would say it's a worth control to add.
