Hi Yashpal,

We send mails from our office directly without smarthost. lih mailing list
at sourceforge does not accept mails directly from dial-up users. Hence I
am sending this mail directly to you.

We in our office are using specialix card for dumb terminals.

Just make sure that you have got the ttyW0....to....ttyW7 devices in your
/dev. If you don't see these devices than create this small script :

for i in 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
do
echo -n "$i"
mknod /dev/ttyW$i c 75 $i
done
echo " "

and run it as root. All the required devices will be created in /dev.

Now add the following in your inittab :

W0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW0 DT9600 vt100
W1:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW1 DT9600 vt100
W2:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW2 DT9600 vt100
W3:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW3 DT9600 vt100
W4:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW4 DT9600 vt100
W5:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW5 DT9600 vt100
W6:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW6 DT9600 vt100
W7:23:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyW7 DT9600 vt100

I am assuming that getty is installed on your machine.

type init q and it should work. It works here for me. No problems. We are
using this stuff for last 1 and half years.

ps.: please forward this mail to LIH too so that it goes in the archives.

Peace
