I am not to connect to the the local BSNL server using
my linux box. I have no problems with win98 and NT. I
have tried kppp, linuxconf and a script (pppd) but to
no use. kppp log window shows the connect string as
"CONNECT 52000/ARQ" only and then fails whereas my
win98 modem log file shows "Recv: <cr><lf>CONNECT
52000/ARQ/V90/LAPM/V42BIS<cr><lf>"

Forcing the modem to connect at a lower speed doesn't
solve the problem.

I use a 3Com US Robotics External 56k modem
Any ideas?
How do I know that the problem is with BSNL and not
me?
