The file which keeps records of logins etc are /var/run/utmp (for current session), and /var/log/wtmp. The access to this data is through who and w utilities. finger gives the access to /var/run/utmp only. To check out last few logins, try: #who /var/log/wtmp Once you know who all have logged in, with root privileges it is possible to have a peek at the history records of the user's shell. For bash it would be something like: #less /home/username/.bash_history HTH Bish -- : ####[ Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]########################### Sub : Best Screen Saver LOST #074 The best screen saver for your system is the Power switch of your monitor - saves both electricity and phosphor ....
