That's the design of sendmail 8.12.x - and look at the permissions of
sendmail binary, etc.  More secure, more modular, far faster than older
(8.11.x and older) sendmails.

Don't try to suppress this - it is excellent.

This is /var/spool/clientmqueue/ normally - did you use the debian default
package?  Don't know what is the reason for their doing _this_ differently.

If you have the sendmail source for 8.12.3 on hand, try the sendmail/SECURITY
file for more information.
