Subject: Illegal Instruction on ia64
Hi,
We are compiling an Fortran application on ia64 running Linux. The following
compiler is used for the purpose.
Intel(R) Fortran Itanium(TM) Compiler for Itanium(TM)-based applications
Version 6.0
The execution of it results in an "Illegal instruction". This happens at a point when
we are trying to 'deallocate' large chunk of memory.
Using gdb we got the following:
Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
0x200000000029fe70 in chunk_free (ar_ptr=0x20000000003f39b0, p=0x6000000000b6a1b0)

0x200000000029fe82 <chunk_free+850>: nop.b 0x0

Can you please let me know whether this is an OS related issue.
Rgds,
Prasad K M
