See, after you create a Linux bootable, for once you'll require to boot through the bootable floppy. Once you have got into Linux, you'll require to do the following exercise:
1. Open (using VI or VIM) lilo.conf (which is located in the /etc folder) change the word "linear" to "lba32" Save the file. 2. Go to /etc/sbin - Type "lilo". This will add lilo with the following: DOS Linux* (* denoted default boot image) 3. Remove floppy and type reboot at the console. You system will dual boot now. cheers, Hemank -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Kunal Shah Sent: Saturday, May 11, 2002 4:03 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re : RE: [LIH] Boot Partition Deleted See there can be two cases. 1) lilo is installed on mbr. in that case boot from win98 bootdisk( if you have downloaded the utility from the url i have given you, you will be able to create win98 bootdisk in windows 2000 also ). then do fdisk /mbr 2) lilo is installed on first sector of hdd. then boot from win98 bootdisk and with fdisk, make your first primary partition (fat32) active.
