Hi I have bought a typhoon silver crest tv tuner card and I am not able to configure it fully. I want to use radio part of it but not getting any sound.
So far I have done following. 1)Follow bttv howto. The card is BT878, bttv modules recognises it and registers it fine. But there are several mismaches between the howto and my experience. The sound is first problem. msp3400 moudle gets loaded fine but it does not yield any sound output. I am using radio/record to check sound. Both are Xawtv packages. Secondly as per bttv howto, the tuner crystal should be 28M/35M for NTSC/PAL but this idiot is 4M. I have tuned tuner module for Phllips PAL type card with type=5 but I am not sure if that's correct by a remote chance. /dev/radio does not work without this. I also tried modules tvaudio and tvmixer. No use. 2)I tried loading radio-typhoon module. But no effect. I can't figure out exact range of io ports but that may be a part of problem. I have /dev/radio but it's location varies depending upon modules. Sometimes it's /dev/radio0 or sometimes it's /dev/v4l/radio0. When I try to cat /dev/radio as root, I get invalid argument. How can I find which module is responsible for which device. Also any idea to figure out ioports for a PCI card? cat /proc/ioports gives me range of io ports but the range is absurdly large to try out manually and it doesn't tell me to which card these io ports go to.
