i am not sure if this could help but you could give a try.

rather than using manual proxy settings, use the automatic proxy
configuration url in your browser to point to a webserver and setup a
script (i think this is a simple java script) to return the proxy server
dynamically.

googling for automatic proxy server configuration provides a lot of
links.
