Hi list, I was running a mail server on Sendmail 8.9 with poprelayd for sometime. Things seemed to be ok, but for common sense security reasons I upgraded to sendmail 8.12.3. Now I find that poprelayd does not work properly. Even after POP-authentication, I am unable to send mail from a MUA.
Owing to fussy and technically low-level clients, I am unable to use SMTP Authentication methods at this point. My only real option seems to be a POP-before-SMTP solution. Does anyone know of any patch/anything that should be done to poprelayd to get it working, or can anyone suggest an alternative within the constraint that I have.
