Yes and so many other things also.
Its ok if you not strictly follow the instructions 
of the url i have given you. All you have to do is set 
the env variables. you can copy that part from the url.

Let me specify in short.

you have to install 
1)compat-glibc
2)compat-libs
3)compat-egcs

you can find these rpms from your redhat 7.2 cds.

Now extract the source into a directory say, /tmp/oracle
create users and groups mentioned in url.
then change the directory ownership of /tmp/oracle to the 
oracle user and group you have created.
login as oracle user and start installation from GUI.

if you carefully see the env settings in the page i have 
given you, you will find the compatibity problem and 
solution of latest kernel, glic and oracle 8i.

you are setting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL to version 2.2.5 and 
versions of glibc and other library and thus fool oracle to 
run.
