Hi,

I have a PC running Win98 and i am trying to install OpenLinux 3.1
from the PCQuest Dec 2001 CD . The hard disk is a 20GB with an
extended partition created for Linux and Swap. The linux partition is
bootable. The installation goes smooth, all the devices are
detected. After selecting the necessary packages for installation, i
opt for the LILO to be installed on Linux partition and not on MBR.
The lizard installation progresses , indicating packages installed.
However at 97% the installation stops, there is no disk activity for
a long time and eventually I had to reboot the PC. I tried installing
again, but the installation stops at 97%.

Any clues ON what went wrong?

Here is the configuration

* Intel Celeron 700 MHz processor
* 128MB RAM
* 20GB hard disk, primary partition for windows 98(fat32), Linux
native 1.8GB, Linux swap 240MB
* Intel 810 based chipset

Thanx in advance,

Regards,
Amitabh
