hi vardhan, you can probably make a directory in DOS named 'linux' in C:\> and copy the program 'loadlin.exe' for cd-rom into c:\linux>. it will be found in dosutils/ in your distribution cd. then copy the linux kernel 'vmlinuz' from the cd to c:\linux>. it should be found under dosutils/autoboot/. create a batch file named 'linux.bat' with the following lines 'c:\linux\loadlin; c:\linux\vmlinuz; root=/dev/hda5 r0 vga=normal'. then just run linux.bat to boot into linux. after booting into linux, run 'lilo -v' as root to install lilo on mbr and then replace /dev/hda5 with '/' and reboot. then you will most probably be prompted for choice of OS which you would like to boot into.
bye, good luck! somen. >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: linux-india-help digest, Vol 1 #1693 - 14 msgs >Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 00:57:02 -0700 > >Send linux-india-help mailing list submissions to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help >or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >You can reach the person managing the list at > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific >than "Re: Contents of linux-india-help digest..." > >Today's Topics: > > 1.
