My first installation of Linux was in '96 on a 386 with 4 mb and half gig HDD, dual partitioned for M$-DOS (Win-3.11) and Slack (ver 1.0), on 100 mb of HDD space. I used the Windows swap file for Linux swap. I had everything inclusive of X running ... For current installations, the one I have cuurently installed on my Win partition is "pygmy linux" which is totally console based. Curent size inclusive of sendmail, mutt etc is 32 mb. Another small one is zipslack, which takes about 60 mb.
