Depends on the LA your box can take and function properly. We got our boxen
(dual PIII, 2 gig RAM etc) specced, and sendmail tuned, so that load average
for queue and refuse are about 25 / 26
Then there's stuff like MaxDaemonChildren and ConnectionRateThrottle you have
to tune, to avoid hosts hogging all your connections.
Finally look at setting up multiple queue directories (say
/var/spool/mqueue/q[1-20] ...)
And yeah - if he's managed to config sendmail 8.12.x as an open relay,
several thousand mails in his queue WILL make the load avg shoot up.

LOST #201 -**< Sub : Sysadmin things (hostname in RedHat) >**-
To change the host name of your RH machine, as root edit file
/etc/hostname. Secondly, place in file /etc/sysconfig/network
'HOSTNAME=hostname_string', else on reboot it will revert to
localhost.localdomain! Its a RH quirk !
