Your problem should get solved if you use the command 

reset

This comes with ncurses package.

[root@ho /root]# rpm -qf /usr/bin/reset
ncurses-5.2-8

Do you have a PS/2 mouse ? One with a round connector with six
pins ? This device is linked to /dev/psaux ... You may like to
symlink your /dev/mouse to it: "#ln -sf /dev/psaux /dev/mouse"
and then run xf86config, and choose PS/2 when prompted.
