Dear list,

couple of days back i posted a query on security issues on dialup, as i got the
reply from Umesh sir,
i wanted to know few more things in details...
as my customer is using Xwindow system, now its little difficult for me to
implement the console login on this as they find it difficult to type and
connect or else i should have used sudo..and its easy to connect to the net
using rp3-config or kppp in Xwindow system even to a computer
illetarate...which wont work when u switch on to users insted of root, so i
want to know can it be achivable by changing the permissions of rp3-config or
kppp ? so that it can be used by the normal user to connect to the net without
knowing root password, as a result i want to keep the server fully secured and
the files on the server cannot be read/writeable to anyother users apart from
root account?as i heard it can be done by using global permissions. please
correct me if i m wrong in this.
can all this be done by any chance ? or is there anyother tools to connect to
the net which can enable the normal user to connect to the net ? since i m
using KDE , i m frequently using rp3-config,
so can it be done? if yes how can i proceed further and where can i get the
more details bout this...
thanks in advance.
Prabhu.
