hi

This machine was being used by someone else and he was running 
Xwindows. So i feel the hardware configuration is supported.

I am not getting any error messages in log.err as per the command 
u gave.
Incase i make log.err the stdout the i get the same messages as i 
told you in it. The only diff being below
is

  Adding Extended Input Device "Configured Mouse" (type :MOUSE)
^M (<-----This is extra) is it some signal is being sent.
waiting for X Server to shut down
^M
