Linux does not use bios and has its own routine to handle I/O like disk,
video, printer etc.
The bios still has these features to maintain the compatibility with old
binaries of DOS world like digger (a game), basic, etc
The latest PC can still run your old dos progies, due to these routines
present in bios.
