is your pop3/imap username same as the local username ? 

if none of the local usernames match that on the pop3 server and 
if fetchmail is not setup to "deliver" it to another user then most
probably your mail is stuck in the error/out queue of the local mail
daemon.

you can configure fetchmail as below to "deliver" the mail to another user
 
poll pop3_server with proto pop3
       user pop3_username there with password pop3_pass  is local_username here
