Hi, I'm using exim-3.36 (no daemon) on slack8, dialup. I usually connect to the net and give a queue run; everything was okay, till now.
But today morning I noticed that exim tries to send mail to LIH, and then sends an error report to the sender *immediately* reporting retry limit exceeded! whereas I'm using a common retry-rule for all domains. Mails to other domains are not affected by this problem. I'm attaching a clip from my exim log. <snip> 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000IG-00 == [EMAIL PROTECTED] R=lookuphost defer (-1): host lookup did not complete 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000IG-00 ** [EMAIL PROTECTED]: retry timeout exceeded 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000II-00 <= <> R=17V2wJ-0000IG-00 U=exim P=local S=1339 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000IG-00 Error message sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000IG-00 Completed 2002-07-18 10:00:55 17V2wJ-0000II-00 == [EMAIL PROTECTED] routing defer (-42): retry time not reached 2002-07-18 10:00:58 17V2wM-0000IM-00 <= [EMAIL PROTECTED] U=aji P=local S=441 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-07-18 10:00:58 17V2wM-0000IM-00 == [EMAIL PROTECTED] R=lookuphost defer (-1): host lookup did not complete </snip> The last line shows a mail sent to Dileep which is deferred, like it should be. A clip from exim config file: <snip> # Domain Error Retries # ------ ----- ------- * * F,2h,15m; G,16h,1h,1.5; F,4d,8h end </snip> Why this special 'love' for LIH? Because its full of brainies? :-) Cordially Ajay Shankar ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
