proxy support is available, just add the foll lines to your $HOME/.wgetrc
file:
use_proxy = on
http_proxy = IP_NUMBER_OF_PROXY:PORT_NUMBER
proxy_user = USERNAME_FOR_PROXY
proxy_passwd = USER_PASSOWRD_FOR_PROXY
