No need to install agin and again. As root issue command:

Xconfigurator
[ be careful, it start with uppercase X ]

If it can not prob graphic card and monitor properly then
you have to use "custom" , then you should know detail
about video card, horizontal and vertical frequencies for
monitor. You may try with some general type like SVGA or
something like that.

Manuals of MotherBoard/ Video card, and monitor may prove
quite helpful to you.
