Hi all,

I asked some time back about my CD drive not booting CD-RW. On hint that it
may not be able to boot CD-RW, I burnt a CD-R for slackware 8.1.

But alas, it's not booting it either. I can boot from freeBSD4.3 CD with same
BIOS setting.

I tried tweaking many things in BIOS, 32 bit IO mode for CD drive, UDMA, etc..
but it just doesn't boot. I can boot that slackware CD in my office compaq
machine, so nothing wrong with CD itself...

Looks like I am facing BIOS upgrade which essentially means mobo+processor
upgrade for me. I am also going to try out swapping CD drive...

Any other hints woul do me a favour as my machine sits OSless as of now..

TIA..

 Shridhar
